About the event
This Pure Malts Whisky Tasting is an in-person event to compare and contrast older and newer styles of 4 different distillery expressions from The Scotch Malt Whisky Society. That means we will venture into some old "1st series" and "cream label" bottles (IYKYK) and some recently released selections that we picked out ourselves. We came up with the idea of this event because it's fun to see what the newer stuff is like, especially when paired up with some favorites of years' past like the old Caol Ila and this new 33yr bottle!!!
Our good friend and SMWS Ambassador Mayur Bhatia will be back with us as we dive into Ardmore, Bunnahabhain, Caol Ila, and one of our unheralded faves, Inchgower. So much changes over each decade with different Scotch distilleries, and our goal will be to try and feel out all the subtle differences. We will visit some sherry, some…
